Need a special beauty look for the holidays? Use these simple makeup application tips for a great glamorous, romantic look for Christmas or any special event.

The holidays are not an occasion to have to spend a lot of time worrying about makeup. This great look will work for a majority of skin tones and is simple to do. Plus it only takes about five glamour products. Which makes it easy to apply and easy to travel with.

This holiday season, the look is soft elegance. Makeup colors are not harsh or exaggerated. Think rosoft, simple and warm.

The Holiday look is primarily for ivory to beige skin tones. Simply change the cheek color to a berry tone for bronze skin tones.

Makeup products needed for this Holiday Look:

  • Shimmer Lavender Eye shadow
  • Deep purple eyeliner
  • Black mascara
  • Cheek color in soft, warm pink
  • Pink lipstick
  • Makeup applicators and brushes

Makeup Application Tips:

After applying the foundation and concealer to give a flawless complexion, set with a light dusting of loose powder to provide a protection to keep makeup on longer. This is an important step in any makeup look especially if there are complexion issues like acne or dark circles.

  1. First, apply the shimmer lavender eye shadow from the lash line, across the lid and blend into the crease below the brow bone.
  2. With the deep purple eyeliner, line the upper and lower lash lines. For the upper lash line, line as close to the lashes as possible and blend with the lavender eye shadow. For the lower lash line, line right along the lower lashes with a soft touch. If eyes tend to water or are sensitive, skip this step or make sure to use waterproof or water-resistant eye liner.
  3. Use a black mascara to define eyes even more. Start by applying the mascara to the base of the lashes and wiggle the brush back and forth, this will add volume to the lashes. Apply a second coat of mascara by holding the brush vertically and pulling the lashes out. This will add length to the lashes.
  4. Apply blush to the apples of cheeks and blend along the cheekbones. For this step, use a multi-colored blendable blush color. Physician Formula makes a great product for this step called Blushing Peach. Simply swirl the blush brush around and tap off excess before applying.
  5. End by applying the pink lipstick to lips for a complete, finished look.

Since this look only needs five products, not only is it simple to apply but it is easy to carry all the products needed for this look throughout the evening for touchups. If the small evening bag does not allow for all makeup products to be brought along, make sure to bring the lipstick for reapplication.
