Vampires are a popular Halloween costume, but with the popularity of the book and movie series Twilight, vampires are officially the hottest Halloween costume.

Vampires are a great Halloween costume because they are scary and sexy all at the same time. But this year so many books, movies, and television series are themed around vampires which make vampires an even more popular Halloween costume.

A woman vampire Halloween costume is easily made with a great makeup look and some sexy apparel that most woman already own. Pair together and become the sexiest Vampiress at the neighborhood Halloween party!

Makeup for Vampire Costume:

  • Pale foundation or face powder (a shade or two lighter than what normally worn)
  • Eye shadows in matte gray, matte brown, and black (with shimmer if possible)
  • Black eyeliner
  • Mascara or false eyelashes
  • Grayish purple blush
  • Dark red lip liner
  • Dark raspberry lipstick
  • Clear lip gloss
  • Makeup application brushes and sponges

  1. First apply foundation and face powder to set makeup. If desired, use the everyday color that is already in the makeup bag. But most times we see vampires with very pale skin, if possible the palest the look the more realistic and scarier the costume.
  2. Next apply the soft gray eye shadow from eyelash to eyebrow. The look we want is dark and smokey. With a small brush or applicator apply under the bottom lashes and blend.
  3. With the brown eye shadow, apply from the lash line up to the crease of the eye and blend with the gray.
  4. Then with the black eye shadow, apply on the lid of the eye. Also smudge a dark line under the eye and blend with the gray eye shadow.
  5. Because this look is so dark, it will look best by applying false eyelashes. There are really fun false eyelashes that are out that would add a lot of drama to this look, from extremely long lashes to lashes that tipped with color (try for a berry color that will match the lips).
  6. Apply the blush to the hollow part of the cheeks, just under the cheekbones. This spot is easily found by puckering up the lips like a fish.
  7. For the lips, apply the dark raspberry lipstick on the lip line and then fill in the lip with the liner. Then apply the dark raspberry lipstick. End with some gloss applied to the center of the lips.
Clothing Ideas for Vampire Costume

There are many different clothing ideas that can be worn for a vampire costume. Here are some ideas.

  • For a vampire look from items already owned, wear a deep colored top (in the reds, berry, or purple family would be great) that is form fitting and flattering. Then pair with a black tight and heels or black boots. Add the accessories of a black cape, lined with the same color top and a choker necklace.
  • For a sexy vampire look, wear a deep colored or black bustier with a mini skirt. Add a cape and knee high black leather boots.
  • For a traditional vampire look, wear a full length velvet dress and a black corset over the dress. Wear with black boots, a long black cape, and a choker necklace.

Some items will need to be purchased or reused from a previous Halloween costume. But for the most part, a vampire costume is very budget friendly and always a perfect fit for the holiday.
